My name is Audrey Svoboda, I am a Sydney Video Editor working with brands, small businesses and agencies all around Australia. I believe there is a human side to every business and brand, and I’m here to help you connect and share your story through emotional storytelling.
ABOUT AUDREY
I grew up in Sydney, and have always been so fascinated by the multiculturalism and diversity of people growing up. I am personally of mixed heritage background (Czech/Russian father and a Filipino mother) and grew up with a large mix of nationalities at school and University. Being exposed to different cultures, I have always been interested in international travel, to learn in-depth of the different landscapes, cuisine, and culture this world has to offer. After travelling and living in different cities in Asia, French Polynesia, Hawaii, United States, Central America and Europe - I have grown a love for my hometown in Sydney, and appreciate the natural beauty and diverse walks of life that live and breathe in this city.
In 2012 I graduated from UTS with a Masters degree in Media Arts and Production, and have since been very interested in numerous areas of screen art & production - working as a freelance Line Producer, Production Assistant, Assistant Director, Camera Assistant, Director of Photography, Motion Graphics Artist and Assistant Editor over the span of 5 years. I’ve been working on TVC’s, events, content for Red Bull, the Disney Channel, ABC3 and a wide variety of campaigns for big brands, such as Toyota, Qantas and CBA to name a few. I believe having practical knowledge in different areas of screen production is quite crucial, especially when creating high quality video content with a team, as it has deepened my understanding of the entire video production process, from concept to completion.
My main passion lies in Video Editing - which I have been naturally led to after working as an Assistant Editor and Intern, learning the art of editing from a variety of talented Mid-range and Senior-level Editors in Australia. I eventually started getting hired as a ‘payed’ Video Editor all around Sydney, and from then on it has been a constant flow of video editing requests on a wide range of projects. My personal touch and emotional storytelling is what makes my work incredibly enjoyable - bringing an idea to life, giving it soul and a heartbeat, and making clients happy.. Is priceless for me.
I enjoy the thrill of problem solving, and thrive on helping clients achieve that end result, while also making the entire process enjoyable and seamless. I have given lectures and workshops in Editing, and would love to help support anyone who has the same passion and drive for powerful and emotional storytelling.
ABOUT THE RAWR COLLECTIVE
I believe in a world where there is more self-love, the pursuance of passion, and racial unity.. And have since been directing my own content and producing short documentaries on these themes. The RAWR Collective was started to empower people to embrace the “lion” within them - beneath all our layers, is a wild untamed side of us, which is “the person you were before the world told you who to be”.
To put it simply, RAWR is to be yourself.
In 2018, I filmed my first short documentary on an Australian painter, Tania Wursig, who speaks volumes about her connection with French Polynesia, and why she does what she does. I followed her to Tahiti, and spent some time with her filming and editing this film. The film was recognised by Tahiti Tourisme, who also sponsored me during my trip to the islands.
In 2019, I interviewed the Artists from FLIPP, a boutique agency in Sydney, on their personal stories and career highlights, working as a professional photographer and DOP. This series is called FlippFocus, which puts a spotlight on each artist as we go in-depth into some of their favourite works.
In 2020, I am collaborating with VIVE Cooking School in directing and editing a series on local “Food Heroes”, ranging from top Chefs, Producers and Artisans on their passions, struggles and connection with food. This is currently in production, and has been funded by the Australian Government for educational and entertainment purposes.
I love to collaborate and work with artists and entrepreneurs in Australia, it continues to excite and motivate me, and I hope to share the stories to help inspire people to embrace their inner lion, their true self.
